Benjamin Pavard is a Bayern Munich player who Pep Guardiola “wants to guide” to Manchester City, but Manchester United may challenge him for the position.
According to Sky Germany, despite their competitors appearing to move forward, United is “still in the race” to sign the Frenchman.
They confirm previous rumors that Manchester City is interested in the defender and would like to bring him over from Bayern Munich this summer if they can.
Their information indicates that the two sides have “still no agreements” in place, thus a transfer or anything of the sort is not underway.

Any prospective transfer will undoubtedly hinge on Kyle Walker’s situation, who Bayern Munich has expressed interest in and who may leave the Etihad this summer.
As a result, Pep Guardiola’s team would need to fill a void, and Pavard, who can play at right back or centre back, might be the solution.
It appears that Manchester City and Bayern have yet to begin formal discussions with him, while Manchester United and Juventus are two more suitors who are ‘in the race’ for his services.
As the Manchester United manager plainly considers adding more variety to his team at the back, the former are known to have been searching for a new right back for some time.
Given his experience at the club and international levels, Pavard could assist at either center-back or right-back for those, and it appears United are still in the running despite City’s current interest.
