Joshua Kimmich, a standout player for Bayern Munich, maybe on Arsenal’s radar as they look to round out their roster.
Prior to their match against the MLS All-Stars, in which several new signings will be on display, the Gunners are now in the United States. Mikel Arteta has emphasized that more deals may still be done. Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, and Kai Havertz have all joined for a total of £200 million.
Thomas Partey has been rumoured to leaving Bayern, and now that policy has changed, star midfielder Joshua Kimmich may also go.
According to Kicker journalist Georg Holzner, the Bavarians no longer view the formerly untouchable Kimmich as unsellable, with a price tag on the superstar thought to be as low as £51m.
The German, who began his career as a right-back, has transitioned to a midfield position as a result of Thiago Alcantara leaving the Allianz Arena. Despite their success there over the past several years, the recurrent German title winners may break off their relationship with Kimmich this summer. As the Spanish publication Marca revealed in May, Mikel Arteta is a fan.
In Arteta’s 3-2-4-1 build-up, Kimmich may join Declan Rice in midfield, with a back three of Ben White, William Saliba, and Gabriel in the back. Martin Odegaard, the team’s captain, and either Emile Smith Rowe or Kai Havertz would make up the other two players in the box midfield.
Although Kimmich would be a wise addition to the team, Arsenal wouldn’t be the only team interested in signing the German. In exchange for selling either Kyle Walker or Joao Cancelo to Bayern, Manchester City may agree to a deal. Both Manchester United and Barcelona are known lovers of a second-phase specialist in midfield.
Leon Goretzka, Kimmich’s teammate for club and country, was also subject to offers, Holzner said.
According to Transfermarkt, Kimmich is worth roughly €75 million.
