According to Fanatik, Manchester United has requested €12 million (£10.4 million) for midfielder Fred in response to a new offer from Galatasaray.
The Brazilian international is anticipated to quit the Red Devils in the coming weeks after being determined to be surplus to requirements.
United initially put a £20 million price tag on his talents, but it now seems that they have dropped it.
According to Fanatik, Galatasaray recently boosted their offer for the 30-year-old from €6 million to €8 million (£5.2 million to £6.92 million).
However, the Red Devils have rejected their offer. The club is still adamant about charging £10.4 million for Fred.
The midfielder is now in the last year of his deal with United.
United is willing to face a large loss on Fred
In the summer of 2018, Fred moved to United from Shakhtar Donetsk for £52 million, but he hasn’t lived up to the lofty expectations.
The Brazilian has given the team some outstanding performances, but in between those there have been some poor ones.
His United career’s high point has been this. Although his distribution has not always been strong, his work rate has always been exceptional.
Erik Ten Hag, the manager, like midfielders who are at ease with the ball at their feet, and Fred does not fit that description.
United will be hoping to approve his departure as soon as possible. In the upcoming weeks, he might not be the only person who makes for the exit.
Donny van de Beek recently admitted that his future could lie away from United. He was an unused substitute in the friendly win over Arsenal.
Meanwhile, United are keeping tabs on Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat and could attempt to sign him once they secure a deal for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.
