Rasmus Hojlund, who played for Atalanta, passed his medical yesterday, but Manchester United is still expected to announce his signing this weekend.
Also rumored to have signed a contract with United, the forward won’t be revealed until the weekend.
Before the start of the new season, United has two more friendlies. One of those is against RC Lens at Old Trafford, and it appears the player might be introduced before the game in a similar manner as Raphael Varane and Brazilian midfielder Casemiro.
According to the Manchester Evening News, administrative complications have caused the Danish forward’s signing to be somewhat delayed. As a result, United has apparently chosen to seize the moment to welcome him.
Casemiro and Varane did it first.
The two were bought from Real Madrid, one in 2021 and the other in 2022, and were rolled out at Old Trafford. Casemiro started against Liverpool while Varane started against Leeds.
Both games resulted in resounding triumphs as a result of the excellent play of United, which came out strong before a crucial match at Old Trafford.
Both have achieved great success at Old Trafford, and it might be claimed that the introductions they both received contributed to their successful debuts at the stadium and the high regard in which they are both regarded at United.
How well-suited is Hojlund?
For United’s opening encounter against Wolves, the Danish forward could not be ready to play. That’s why seeing him in action would have been wonderful.
The attacker might still play in United’s last preseason match against Athletic Bilbao, which is scheduled for a day later in Dublin.
It’s unclear if the forward will need more than one exhibition match to be prepared to start against Wolves, but he has participated in Atalanta’s warm-up matches.
In advance of the first game of the season on August 14, Erik ten Hag will examine him closely in the shadows and make a judgment.
