Moises Caicedo is currently the subject of a contract dispute between Liverpool and Chelsea.
Prior to the new season, both the Reds and the Blues are attempting to strengthen their midfield lineups even more.
Following the departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho from Anfield, Liverpool must sign more midfielders.
Chelsea is apparently moving in on Tyler Adams in the meantime, although rumors about other players continue.
Caicedo has been associated with the Blues for some time, but it appears that the Reds are attempting to get ahead of the Blues.
According to a Thursday morning Sky Sports report, Liverpool spoke with Brighton about Caicedo.
Currently, Caicedo, Liverpool, and Chelsea are mentioned in a new transfer update by Fabrizio Romano.
The insider in the transfer market said that because Brighton is planning to sell to the highest bidder, the next 24 hours are key.
Chelsea is “pushing” for his signature because they “hope” of introducing him against Liverpool this coming Sunday.
In the meanwhile, the Reds contacted Brighton in the morning with the intention of making a formal offer “in the following hours.”
