Rodri of Manchester City is one of the hardest players Bruno Fernandes has ever faced, according to him.
For a few years now, the Spaniard has been performing at the pinnacle of his abilities.
But in the previous season, Rodri was truly great.
The £63 million transfer from Atletico Madrid was crucial to City’s attempt to win the Triple Crown.
Under Pep Guardiola, he was the player who saw the most action.
Rodri continued his strong play from last season against Burnley on Friday.
He scored, assisted, and did all the amazing work he usually does in midfield. It prompted Micah Richards to label it one of the best performances by a Man City midfielder he’s ever seen. And now, there is even recognition from Fernandes…

Fernandes has done an interview with Sky Sports and was asked about the toughest player he has faced during his time in the Premier League.
Being an offensive midfielder, Fernandes concentrated on the Premier League’s defensive midfielders.
He responded, “You play against excellent players in the Premier League. Rodri was challenging, Declan Rice was extremely challenging, and Kante was challenging.
Kante was physically smaller but more agile and sharp than Declan and Rodri. You get to play against the top players because we compete in the best league in the world, but there are lots of guys.
The greatest of the best is Rodri.
The rivalry between City and United is still very intense.
Therefore, Fernandes’ admission regarding Rodri merely goes to illustrate how talented he is and how highly regarded he is by his fellow players.
Right now, he is the best option for the position of defensive midfield.
It’s unbelievable to think he is only 27 and is so outstanding in every facet of the part.
He may not even have reached his prime years yet.
He should just be able to remain healthy and fit. Rodri recently expressed concerns about his playing time, thus it stands to reason that exhaustion could be the only thing posing a problem for him.
