Liverpool has inquired about the terms of a potential sale but has not yet made a formal bid, according to information first exposed by Dutch Outlet AD and afterward reported by the likes of Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio.
Di Marzio said that representatives from both parties are mediating the talks.
If no significant roadblocks arise in the next several days, AD reports that Liverpool are on pace to close a deal.
Amrabat, who made his name known on the international stage at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, has drawn interest from several clubs throughout Europe ever since the January transfer window.
Midway through the 2022–23 season, he was on the verge of finalizing a transfer to Barcelona, but that agreement fell through at the eleventh hour, forcing the 26-year-old to return to Florence.
In recent weeks, there have also been rumors of interest from teams like Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, and possibly Juventus.
However, Liverpool is currently one of the front-runners to recruit Amrabat since they still need to bolster their midfield before the summer transfer market closes.
