Sky Sports has now made public the terms of this potential transaction as well as the sum Newcastle United has offered for Lewis Hall.
Tyneside appears to be the 18-year-old’s final stop as he appears to be leaving Stamford Bridge.
According to Sky Sports, the proposal under discussion includes an initial loan with an obligation to convert to a permanent arrangement the following year.
with a delayed transfer fee of £28 million to be paid next summer and potential future add-ons.
According to Sky Sports, Newcastle United will be able to “get around FFP constraints with payment at a later date” thanks to this loan with the requirement to buy next summer.
Following an exclusive from the incredibly dependable David Ornstein on Wednesday, this most recent update was released on Thursday night.
The Mag, August 16, 2023:
According to a Wednesday night update, Lewis Hall has received a new offer from Newcastle United.
According to The Athletic’s incredibly trustworthy David Ornstein, Eddie Howe has made several offers during this transfer window, but they have all been rejected.
He now claims that the manager of Newcastle United has made another attempt to sign Lewis Hall but he doesn’t specify whether it is a loan or permanent contract, even though all evidence point to it not being purely a loan arrangement.
In order to somewhat balance things out with new additions and, most importantly, to try to comply with FFP regulations, Chelsea is keen to sell players now, during this transfer window.
Therefore, for any offer to have any chance of being accepted, it must either be a straightforward purchase of the player or a loan with a commitment from Newcastle United to purchase Lewis Hall in the following summer.
“Chelsea initially wanted Hall joining Crystal Palace on loan, but the England youth international is favoring a permanent exit,” the guy from The Athletic claims.
Lewis Hall was born in Slough, but according to Ornstein, he has always supported Newcastle United and is eager to transfer to St. James’ Park, especially if he has the chance to play regularly for the first team, including in the Champions League. Lewis Hall’s versatility, which allows him to play left defense, left wingback, and even midfield, may make him the perfect addition for Eddie Howe.
Lewis Hall, who will be 19 in September, only started eight Premier League games last season; the final one was against Newcastle United in the 1-1 draw in May, when he was perhaps Chelsea’s finest player.
Lewis Hall didn’t use a substitute during the 1-1 draw between Chelsea and Newcastle in Atlanta this summer, and he wasn’t even in the matchday squad on Sunday when Chelsea drew 1-1 with Liverpool. It doesn’t appear like Mauricio Pochettino shares that opinion.
According to The Athletic, Chelsea is now eager to sell and is asking about £35 million for the academy graduate.
They also note that the Chelsea manager has many additional choices at left-back and wing-back, with Ben Chilwell supported by Ian Maatsen and Marc Cucurella, as well as the recently acquired Ishe Samuels-Smith from Everton.
