Evan Ferguson, a target for Manchester United, is reportedly on the verge of joining Premier League rivals Arsenal from Brighton and Hove Albion.
This summer, the Gunners invested more than £200 million on new additions, including Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber, and David Raya.
Before the transfer market closes, Arsenal may add one or two more players, but if rumors are to be believed, they are already looking ahead to the summer of 2019.
According to Football Transfers, Ferguson “is on Arsenal’s radar for the upcoming summer transfer window.”
The 18-year-old, who scored ten goals in 25 appearances across all competitions last season, was one of the Premier League’s breakout stars. He has also had a bright start to this season, scoring in Brighton’s 4-1 win over Luton Town on the opening day.

Ferguson has been closely associated with Manchester United, although he recently signed a long-term deal to stay with Brighton until 2028. The Football Transfers report continues.
‘The striker is valued at £100million by Brighton, which has put off Tottenham from making any move this time around.
‘The Ireland international is also attracting interest from Manchester United but we are told that it’s the Gunners who are most likely to make a move.
‘Ferguson is one of the most highly-rated young talents in the Premier League and Arsenal are looking for a traditional No.9 to come in and compete with Gabriel Jesus, whose injury record has been of concern.’
‘Arsenal and Chelsea remain in talks over a trade for striker Folarin Balogun, with the forward already having agreed personal terms with the Stamford Bridge club,’ according to a separate report from Football Transfers.
While on loan at Reims this summer, Balogun scored 21 goals in Ligue Un, and it’s likely that he’ll leave Arsenal before the summer transfer window closes. The report goes on.
‘Although there is optimism from the Blues that they will be able to come to an agreement over the striker, Arsenal are holding out for a huge sum for the forward.
‘The Gunners intend to bank as close to £50 million for the Hale End graduate as possible, but the Blues have made it clear that they have no interest in doing business at that price.
‘Instead, Chelsea have told their Premier League rivals that they will not go higher than £30m for the 22-year-old.
‘Balogun, who is under contract at Arsenal until 2025, is a player who has attracted a good deal of attention in the summer transfer window, with FootballTransfers exclusively revealing that West Ham United are also interested in the player, who is particularly appreciated by David Moyes.’
