Nottingham Forest and Chelsea have reached an agreement for Callum Hudson-Odoi to join the club.
According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, that is the case.
They assert that Callum Hudson-Odoi, 22, will be purchased by Forest, a Premier League team, from Chelsea’s rivals.
They’re expected to spend roughly €10 million (£8.5 million), according to the explanation.
Everything seems to be settled at this point, and the Englishman will sign a four-year contract with the City Ground.
Many consider Hudson-Odoi to be one of the best players to emerge from the Chelsea academy in the last ten years, but he is now likely to leave Stamford Bridge permanently.
The quick winger has made 126 first-team appearances for the Blues, and he has displayed flashes of brilliance. However, he has significantly slipped down the hierarchy in recent years, which is why he was even loaned to Bayer Leverkusen last season.
We can understand selling the £120,000 per week (Spotrac) forward with just one year left on his contract because he is obviously not in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for Chelsea this season.
Conor Gallagher once called Hudson-Odoi “incredible,” as reported by JD Sports. Hudson-Odoi needs this new beginning in his career to get back on track.
If the 22-year-old can come close to his best, we feel Forest may have found themselves a steal. They’ll bet there’s still a lot of untapped potential elsewhere.
Although it is disappointing to watch so many Chelsea academy graduates go on to succeed at rival organizations, supporters can still look to players like Reece James and Levi Colwill as success stories in their own starting lineup.
