The newest winger for Manchester City, Jeremy Doku, has been reflecting on players who have filled his position in the past at the Etihad Stadium.
Doku joined the team as the third acquisition of the window earlier this week after completing his transfer from Rennes.
Doku has been brought in to replace Riyad Mahrez, who left earlier this summer to join Al Ahli.
City supporters are very anticipating Doku.
It has been a long since fans have witnessed a winger sprint down the wing with lightning speed.
Pep Guardiola has recently utilized players like Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva.
Those two athletes have excelled.
Doku, though, will add something unique, and one wonders if watching him will be similar to seeing Leroy Sane in the past.
Leroy Sane at Manchester City was a favorite of Jeremy Doku’s.
Doku has appeared in a club video in which he watches former City wingers.
He analyzes their video clips, and at one point Sane’s video is played for him.
It resembles Sterling a little bit, however, Sterling is left-footed and plays both the left and right wings.
“Good dribbler, good finisher, and lots of flair. Sane is a great performer at City, too.
In 2020, Sane departed the Etihad to sign with Bayern Munich.
He played for City for four seasons, thrilling fans with his incredible speed and skill.
Doku could be City’s next Sane
It is interesting to hear that Doku enjoyed watching Sane for City.
Because the 21-year-old could well become the club’s new version of the flying German.
Doku appears to be all about dribbling and being direct, and apparently, he has an explosive pace – particularly his acceleration.
City supporters will be satisfied if he develops into anything like Sane.
Sane was exhilarating at City even though he wasn’t always reliable, and many supporters truly miss seeing the 27-year-old wearing a sky blue shirt.
