Late in the transfer window, Chelsea is said to make a “surprise move” and let Mykhaylo Mudryk leave the team. The forward joined the team in January, but has so far found it difficult to live up to his £88.5 million price tag, leading some to wonder if he will ever reach his full potential at Stamford Bridge.
Since moving to the Premier League, Mudryk has displayed some promise, but overall, he has disappointed, scoring only once in 19 career appearances for the Blues.
Mudryk might not have been given the right conditions to thrive, and as a result, he will need time to adjust to life in England before reaching his full potential. This is because countless players have suffered after joining Chelsea over the past 18 months.
But given that Mudryk hasn’t started a league game this year, former Chelsea attacker Pat Nevin thinks there’s a good chance Chelsea will cut their losses and trade him before the summer transfer window shuts.
“Mudryk has not been given game time this season,” he said. He is a really excellent player, and Arsenal was desperate to sign him. Last season, it didn’t work for him, but it did for someone else at Chelsea.

“It relies on Pochettino’s opinion. A player who hasn’t yet developed has cost them a lot of money. Mudryk might make a significant surprise entrance or exit.
“However, I would be disappointed because I believe he is a good player and needs to be on a squad that is right for him. A successful and aggressive team, not an underwhelming one all over the field.
Before Chelsea scuttled the deal, Arsenal pushed Shakhtar Donetsk to sell Mudryk, and Arteta’s team will be somewhat relieved to see the Ukraine international suffering in the Premier League. Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of the Blues, has already stated that he thinks the 22-year-old will soon return to form.
He is a young player with a lot of ability, the former Tottenham manager said. He needs to continue to demonstrate that he is prepared to perform, work hard throughout the weekday training sessions, and develop continuity and trust with his team members.
As is the case with many of our younger players, “we need to also create that trust with him and he needs to build it with us as part of the squad.
It will take some time, but there is no denying his immense skill and quality. It won’t be long until he becomes a regular member of the team.
