Mason Greenwood looks set to leave England after the club confirmed he is no longer part of the first-team squad
Mason Greenwood appears destined to leave Manchester United and sign with Lazio of Italy on a €700,000-per-year deal.
The completion of a protracted criminal case against Greenwood caused Manchester United to inform him that he had no future at the club. According to Sky Sports, Mauizio Sarri’s team has made an official bid for Greenwood.
Despite the fact that allegations of sexual assault and death threats made against a woman in January 2022 were ultimately dropped this summer, United decided to part company with Greenwood in response to fan outrage after it was first suggested that he would play for the Red Devils again this season.
After earning his Manchester United debut at the age of 17 and his England debut a year later, Greenwood was once thought to be one of the most talented players in English football. He hasn’t participated in a game, though, since the aforementioned accusations were brought against him 18 months ago. It remains to be seen how this will have impacted his football development.
Football fans and the general public are sure to get even more outraged by the news that Greenwood has been given rich terms by a team in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
