After the international break, Manchester United desperately needs a turn around in their fortunes.
They have had a rough start to the season, losing to both Tottenham and Arsenal, and Erik ten Hag’s team has looked ineffective even when winning games against Wolves and Nottingham Forest.
Following the break, United hosts Brighton before visiting Bayern Munich in the Champions League, both of which are challenging matches for a manager under pressure.
In light of this, ten Hag could use the return from injury of a few of his important players.

Lisandro Martinez
His removal against Arsenal due to a foot issue caused anxiety since he is so crucial to the way United builds up from the back.
Argentina is not participating. Martinez was fit, according to Argentine manager Lionel Scaloni, despite being called up.
“As you are aware, Licha had a problem with his feet. He was in pain during Arsenal’s last game against Manchester United and left the field (was substituted) out of caution. He is healthy after studies were conducted.

Sofyan Amrabat
final day of signing The absence of Sofyan Amrabat from the Moroccan team for their matches against Liberia and Burkina Faso raised concerns that the midfielder, who was on loan from Fiorentina, was injured.
Walid Regragui, the manager of Atlas Lions, has maintained that it was merely a precaution, giving fans hope that Amrabat will make his debut on Saturday.
Potential return date: September 16, 2023, against Brighton
Victor Lindelof
Another defender in Lindelof came off against Arsenal too, albeit due to illness rather than injury. Involved for Sweden over the break, it seems almost certain he will be in contention for the Brighton game.
Mason Mount
Summer signing Mount is yet to really get going as a United player and has missed their last two games with a hamstring problem.
The England international, however, is likely to feature after the international break.

Kobbie Mainoo
Young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo impressed during pre-season but saw his summer ruined by an ankle injury suffered in a friendly against Real Madrid.
Mainoo, however, is likely to be back in action by the end of the month.

Raphael Varane
Varane came off injured in the win over Forest and missed the Arsenal loss with an unspecified fitness and the club say the Frenchman will miss “a few weeks” of action.

Luke Shaw
A mainstay of ten Hag’s side, Shaw’s muscle injury will keep him out of action for a number of weeks, hence the loan signing of Sergio Reguilon.
