Real Madrid’s interest in Girona winger Savinho is the subject of a report in the Spanish publication Fichajes today that also mentions Manchester City.
According to their source, the Brazilian is ‘one of the great revelations’ in La Liga this season, and that has recently caught the Galactico’s eye.
Troyes has Savinho on loan at Girona, and when he is due to return to the French club in the summer, Real Madrid will likely try to sign him.
The issue is that despite playing for a club in the City Group, Savinho truly aspires to represent Manchester City.
According to the article, the winger is hoping that his strong campaign with Girona would help him “attract Pep Guardiola’s attention,” which “could frustrate Real Madrid plans” to recruit him.
That tale does make sense, given that Savinho expressed his desire to play for Manchester City in an interview with Spanish media last week. That is among the reasons he turned down a transfer to Arsenal last year.
Yes. I was aware that Troyes belonged to the City Group and believed that with hard work, I may one day join Manchester City. Naturally, I’ll have to do exceptionally well here in Girona,” he remarked.
Guardiola’s request is all that is required to complete the trade because Manchester City would find it simpler to get him from Troyes.
