Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen are both healthy, according to Erik ten Hag, ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League match at Old Trafford against Crystal Palace.
The manager stated that “we have seen some players back on Tuesday and for tomorrow are players that were out of the squad on Tuesday: Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen” during the pre-game news conference. They’ve returned.
Additionally, he affirmed Antony will resume training, as the club had previously announced this morning.
“We made the declaration. Everything is now crystal clear. It isn’t a distraction, in my opinion. We’ll pay attention to the games. He’ll succeed as well, he assured.
When asked if Antony will be in the team for tomorrow, Ten Hag responded, “On Saturday, he will be back in training, so tomorrow. I need to check, but I believe he is fit.
Ten Hag was questioned over the status of Jadon Sancho, who he has suspended from the first team while he waits for an apology. “Many of you ask me these questions so often, and I have said everything,” Ten Hag retorted. I covered everything.
When questioned about the quantity of injuries and what the team could do to help, the manager responded:
“We already extended the squad this season because we were clear about the reason why. We had a longer season because of the World Cup, and we had to play a longer season because of the FA Cup. less of a break.
“Every time the calendar gets busier, the players are overloaded to an extreme degree. That has been mentioned by several of my coworkers, and it has been mentioned by myself as well. However, it goes on. The timetable is always growing. It won’t stop anywhere.
“Players can’t handle the overload any longer, and I believe that’s what you say right now in this squad,” the coach said.
Ten Hag stated that he wants to nurture young players but that “the mentality has to be right” when discussing integrating them into the first squad.
The academy stars, according to him, must demonstrate their abilities in practise “and show it in the games.”
It’s beneficial for the club to develop such players and to get them into professional football, especially professional top football, as you’ve previously seen when you see players improve because you can see the progress and it may help you in difficult situations.
