According to Nathan Ake, Jeremy Doku, a player for Manchester City, is already well-liked in the locker room.
In a £55 million deal, City acquired the winger from Rennes during the most recent summer transfer window.
Despite being relatively new to the team, the Belgian has already heard one of his new teammates speak highly of him.
‘Promising’, says Ake Doku
This is what Ake had to say about Doku in a recent interview with the team that was posted on their official website.
He stated: “He is integrating quite well. Everyone in the changing room enjoys him since he is a funny character. Because he speaks Dutch, it is simple for me to communicate with him, and we can have meaningful talks. He is a very pleasant man, which, in my opinion, makes it simpler to fit in with the group.
He has consistently displayed excellent play. He always produces something, whether it’s mayhem for their defence or chances for us, which makes him really dangerous. There will undoubtedly be more, but the beginning is quite encouraging.
Prior to today’s Premier League match against Wolves, the 21-year-old had made five appearances in all competitions since joining the Manchester club, scoring one goal in the process.
With only three league matches under his belt, the attacker has amassed the joint-most progressive carries (19) in the City squad and has made more carries into the penalty area (12) than any other player in Pep Guardiola’s team.
This demonstrates how forward-thinking he is and supports Ake’s assertion that he is a dangerous player who can open up scoring possibilities for his club.
Many City supporters should be happy now that Ake has revealed these behind-the-scenes details about Doku and the way he has adapted to the team and become a popular figure in the locker room. These supporters will likely now be hoping to see the winger develop into a top player on the pitch for the team.
