The Premier League victories in back-to-back games have given the Red Devils some momentum. In neither of those games, they were convincing, but they still won.
In its home game versus Copenhagen, the team will be aiming for another triumph. In the Champions League, the team is failed to earn a point following losses to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray.
Fernandes praised Mainoo on Instagram prior to the game, noting that he has since fully healed from the knee injury he sustained playing in preseason versus Real Madrid in the United States.
In the near future, Mainoo ought to receive worthwhile minutes.
For the Red Devils, the 18-year-old enjoyed a great preseason debut. With an assist and a passing efficiency of 96% versus Arsenal, he put up a standout performance. He prevailed in every fight.
The young player was given a starting position in the following match against Madrid as compensation, but he regrettably suffered a freak injury as a result of Casemiro’s careless challenge on Rodrygo.
He hasn’t played for the team this season as a result, but he should earn some significant playing time soon. The fact that Mainoo can play anywhere in midfield is a major plus.
He won’t likely start against Copenhagen tonight, but if United finds themselves in a comfortable position with a two or three goal lead, he might enter the game.
