Yoro, a center-back, made his debut in the first squad last season and is now a mainstay in the Lille starting lineup. The 17-year-old has started seven of the nine games thus far in the Ligue 1 campaign.
This has unavoidably given rise to rumors that Yoro may soon be leaving Les Dogues. And 90min suggests that might very well be the case.
They assert that Chelsea is the team that is currently more concerned with the growth of the child. According to reports, the Blues scouts are “thoroughly impressed” by Yoro.
Liverpool, though, is also hiding. The France U21 international’s rise last year is claimed to have caught the attention of the Reds, who are reportedly “aware” of him.
Even so, rumors persist that Liverpool hasn’t shown much more than passing interest in Yoro.
Liverpool watching Yoro closely
Lille is renowned for producing high-quality young products from abroad and for having one of Europe’s best academies.
However, Yoro stands out even in this crowd.
The adolescent, who was just sixteen, became Lille’s second-youngest debutant ever after sneaking into the first squad at the end of the 2021–2022 season.
That was a record set by a certain Eden Hazard, who is arguably the most legendary of all the Flanders club alumni. Yoro shattered it.
You can therefore understand why Liverpool might be interested in him.
The Reds have been searching the world for anyone who would be a suitable center-back as they search for their next generation of players.
Yoro is undoubtedly still a little young for that at 17. But just think of what he could become if he’s already this amazing. His potential is truly frightening.
But Chelsea’s presence here might be a problem. Under Todd Boehly, the Blues are known for being trigger-happy and have spent the last year amassing young talent for fun.
However, Yoro would avoid the spectacle at Stamford Bridge if he had any common sense. The better option is Liverpool. Reds, keep an eye on this one.
