Adductor injury: Andre Onana, the custodian for Manchester United, apparently suffered one.
During Cameroon’s World Cup qualifying match against Mauritius, Onana had to be substituted from the game.
The victory for Rigobert Song’s team, who were incredibly dominant, was completed by goals from Bryan Mbeumo, Georges Nkoudou, and Frank Magri.
Onana’s substitution in the 81st minute or so was the game’s biggest drawback.
Fabrice Ondoa took the place of the United shot stopper and finished the match.
Onana sustained an adductor injury, according to Actu Cameroun. With just two months till the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) begins, the defeat appears to have alarmed Cameroon supporters.
“André Onana will have to undergo medical examinations to determine the exact nature of his injury and the duration of his unavailability,” the news publication continues.
The length of time it takes to recover from an adductor injury varies depending on how serious the issue is. As a result, it might not be able to determine with certainty when Onana will be able to resume playing until more, in-depth tests are performed on the player.
It is known that Grade 1 recovery can take up to two weeks, with the restoration of normal movement, including walking, occurring in a matter of days.
On the other hand, grade 2 strains may require three to six weeks of rest before they heal.
Onana’s Grade 4 strain, which would almost probably prevent the 27-year-old from playing for almost four months, would be United’s worst nightmare.
With Onana expected to join the ranks of Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Jonny Evans, and Amad Diallo, among others, United has a long list of injured players.
