Takehiro Tomiyasu was noticeably absent from both the starting lineup and the bench when Japan revealed their team for their World Cup qualifying match against Myanmar last Thursday.
The Japanese publication Hochi News revealed prior to that match that Tomiyasu was adopting a customized training regimen and wasn’t always fully trained with the team.
Japan used exhaustion as justification, making sure Tomiyasu had enough sleep on the national team.
The defender for Arsenal has resumed full training, which is good news. The player assured the media that there are no issues with his fitness.
