Klopp’s Next Move: Liverpool Manager Eyes €20m Fenerbahce Star for Squad Boost
Sebastian Szymanski, an offensive midfielder for Fenerbahce, is reportedly of interest to Liverpool, per a report by Fanatik.
Liverpool, the dominant team in the Premier League, has taken notice of the Polish midfielder’s performances since he joined Fenerbahçe from Feyenoord.
Szymanski, who usually plays offensive midfield, has made a major impact on Fenerbahçe’s performance this year, tallying 10 goals and dishing out 9 assists in 25 games.
Due to goal differential, the Yellow Canaries lead rivals Galatasaray in the Süper Lig at the moment.
Jürgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has been an admirer of his performances since 2019.
Fenerbahçe is adamant about holding onto Szymanski until the January transfer window opens, despite reports that Klopp has indicated his desire to bring the youngster to Anfield.
The Turkish team would not entertain a price below €20 million for any possible sale, having paid €9.7 million to Dynamo Moscow for Szymanski.
The 24-year-old is believed to want to play in the Champions League, but his contract with Fenerbahçe is set to expire in 2027.
Fenerbahçe would find it challenging to hang onto the gifted midfield player if they are not able to make it into the Champions League anytime soon.
Fenerbahce may consider an end-of-season sale, although they would prefer to keep him on this January.
