Arsenal’s Dutch Delight: Ruud Gullit Reveals the ‘Perfect’ Eredivisie Striker
With their 4-3 victory over Luton Town on Tuesday night, the Gunners kept their advantage at the top of the Premier League standings, although they still share goals, just like they did the previous campaign.
At Kenilworth Road, Arsenal had four different goal scorers, including Gabriel Jesus, who scored his first league goal since early September.
In a 5-0 rout at Sheffield United, Eddie Nketiah, a fellow striker, scored three of his five goals. Since then, he hasn’t scored a Premier League goal away from home in almost a year.
Although Arteta’s team leaders would certainly benefit from a player who can score goals on a regular basis, they are probably priced out of the competition for their two main targets because Chelsea is also in the running.
But Gullit, the former Blues manager, has recommended a possibly far less expensive substitute who is making an impression in the Eredivisie this year.
“I think Santiago Gimenez would be a good fit for Arsenal as Feyenoord play similar football,” he said to GamblingZone.
He would find it simpler to blend in because he would be accustomed to it.
Gimenez would be joining a struggling Chelsea side that is now seeking for its identity. I would much rather work with a team that is well-versed in their tasks.
Naturally, I’m hoping he’s the one to provide Chelsea with what they require. I have no idea who Chelsea is right now!
Gimenez, a 22-year-old international from Mexico, has flourished under Arne Slot’s coaching. Prior to Ange Postecoglou’s arrival, Gimenez was expected to sign with Tottenham in the summer. This season, he has already scored 20 goals.
