Chris Billam-Smith’s Spectacular Turnaround Ends Masternak Battle

Billam-Smith, fresh off a thrilling victory against Lawrence Okolie in May, was making his maiden defence of the title.
In the first round of the battle, Billam-Smith defeated Masternak. Masternak’s face was bloated pretty soon. Masternak appeared to be immediately on the defensive, as he was being forced back.
Billam-Smith immediately pursued Masternak in the second round, applying intense pressure and slamming blows after blow. In certain areas, Masternak started to succeed with precise blows that connected to the head and torso.
The third round featured back-and-forth between the two fighters. Billam-Smith was more frequently throwing a strong throw. They were trading blows in the last minute, with both fighters landing strong, powerful blows. Billam-Smith suffered a cut to his left eye during the fourth, and Masternak began to exhibit symptoms.
Masternak pursued Billam-Smith in the fifth, who was content to put out fire with fire. In the sixth, Masternak was landing frequently and causing Billam-Smith a lot of problems. A gash appeared above Masternak’s left eye during the seventh, and two fighters traded blows. Near the end of the round, Billam-Smith made a powerful comeback with punches to the body and head.
Masternak was unable to exit the ring prior to the fight commencing, citing a rib ailment.
