According to Football Insider, Man City have been scouting Real Valladolid sensation Gui Ruck on a regular basis.
The 2009-born midfielder has come to the attention of many major teams, and Real Madrid is rumored to be keeping a close eye on him as well.
The Brazilian wonderkid has reportedly been viewed by City’s scouting team several times, and talent scouts have called him a “future superstar” with the ability to compete in the Champions League.
Ruck can leave Real Valladolid as a free agent in the summer when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
There will be a compensation cost associated with signing Ruck.
Since taking control in 2008, City has concentrated on acquiring young talent; in 2014, they invested over £200 million to construct a new academy.
The Manchester giants have already witnessed the fruits of their investment, as an increasing number of City players, including Phil Foden and Cole Palmer, have established themselves as Premier League regulars.
Football Insider reported in July that during the previous three years, City has made £115 million from the sale of youth players.
If Ruck signs with City in the summer, he might be the next big player to come through the club’s successful academy.
The young player was enrolled in Vitoria Guimaraes’ development system in 2018, and since then, his youth career has primarily been established in Portugal.
Prior to moving to Spain in 2020 and enrolling in the Rayo Majadahonda academy, he lived in Braga and Porto. In 2022, he went to Valladolid.
Other news: according to Kieran Maguire, Man City and Liverpool will engage in a “stand-off” with 14 Premier League teams.
