Arsenal Star Takes Unwanted Title of PL’s Biggest Flop, Says Legend
Teddy Sheringham, the legendary player for Manchester United, claims that Eddie Nketiah of Arsenal is the Premier League’s biggest bust this year.
Mikel Arteta has given preference to other choices, so of the twenty-four-year-old’s 22 appearances in all competitions, only 12 have been in the starting lineup.
In those games, Nketiah has tallied six goals and one assist. On Tuesday night in the Champions League, he scored in a 1-1 tie with PSV Eindhoven.
While he did not play much last season, he was Arteta’s go-to backup when Arsenal challenged Manchester City for the Premier League championship.
Sheringham maintains that Nketiah has been the biggest letdown in the league this season, despite the fact that Arsenal is once again fighting for the championship with Arteta’s team one point behind leaders Liverpool.
“Eddie Nketiah at Arsenal has been disappointing this season,” Sheringham said to Gambling Zone when asked which Premier League player he expected more from. I genuinely believe there’s something special about him. He is a young Ian Wright who is primed for stardom, but as we’ve just discussed, players can be impacted by criticism.
He would have been aware of the cacophony of Arsenal supporters discussing their need for a unique upfront offering. He would be aware of the persistent rumors and rumors that the team will buy a striker in January. He seems like a natural goal scorer to me.
“It can affect your confidence when you don’t achieve your goals, and I believe that has happened. Although he is still a very young boy, I believe he has innate skill and will develop well for Arsenal.
Nketiah is likely in the same situation as Trent was the previous year, which is comparable to the criticism that Trent encountered. If you possess talent, have the appropriate motivation, and the right people in your life are giving you the right advice, you will eventually return.
He is currently experiencing a lull. He’s becoming better at Arsenal, where he can watch Jesus and pick up tips from Arteta to become a more complete Centre striker and hold up player. I am aware of his goal-scoring prowess, but perhaps he should improve his overall play.
He continued, saying of the Premier League summer acquisition that has most pleased him: “James Maddison has had the biggest impact on his new club so far this season.” He is the perfect example of what Ange Postecoglou looks for in his offensive players. He signed with Tottenham, in my opinion, at a really advantageous period for both the team and him as a player.
In terms of the style of football the team has been playing, Tottenham’s last four years have been boring. I don’t think Maddison would have had the same impact on the team this season had he signed under Mourinho or Conte. Don’t get me wrong, he would have performed well since he would have been playing with Harry Kane, but the football that both of those managers played would have drastically changed his role.
Madison is free to create with Ange, and he uses his best abilities to work in the upper reaches of the pitch. He can walk about the park freely, and ever since joining the club, I think he has been nothing short of amazing. Ange is undoubtedly the kind of manager who can bring out the best in a player such as Maddison.
