Conor Gallagher’s destiny is out of his control, according Mauricio Pochettino, amid rumours connecting the midfielder to a move to Tottenham.
Although Conor Gallagher has been a mainstay in Chelsea’s midfield since Pochettino took over in the summer, the Blues chose to sell the midfielder, according to a story published in The Daily Mail last week.
According to the publication, some at the West London club believed that January would be the ideal opportunity to take advantage of the England player who was featured in the storefront.
TalkSPORT, which stated a few days ago that Chelsea is anticipated to cash in on the midfield player and use the money to sign a new striker, also supported this information.
The article also stated that Tottenham had changed as a result of the situation, and they were prepared to attack the 23-year-old when the transfer window opened the following month.
It appears that Pochettino wants to keep Conor Gallagher.
Pochettino has now made it clear that he has no control over Gallagher’s future, dropping a major clue concerning the midfield player.
Although the Argentine acknowledged that the midfielder is a key component of his plans, he would not say whether or not the player will stay at Stamford Bridge.
The Chelsea manager stated (via Fabrizio Romano): “It’s the club’s decision, not mine” in response to the question of whether Gallagher will sign a new deal. He is one of the captains and is in the starting lineup for almost every game. He is the kind of player the team needs, in my opinion, because he is aware of who the team is.
