In the past 12 months, Serhou Guirassy has emerged as one of the top strikers on the continent. This season, the centre forward is only four goals behind Harry Kane in the competition for the Bundesliga Golden Boot.
The 27-year-old’s contract contains a meagre €17.5 million (£15 million) release clause. It comes as no surprise that Spurs and other Premier League teams are rumored to be interested in him (TEAMtalk).
The Sun revealed a few days ago that although Man Utd was interested in the Guinea international, the player would rather transfer to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium than Old Trafford when the season starts next month.
The site further stated that the Red Devils intended to focus on Youssef En-Nesyri of Sevilla after knowing of the Stuttgart star’s wish.
United is still committed to Serhou Guirassy.
Romano has since clarified that he is unaware of Man Utd’s interest in En-Nesyri, indicating that Erik Ten Hag’s team is still in the process of negotiating for Guirassy.
The writer also implied that the Manchester United had already had a conversation with the agent of the former Rennes player.
“I haven’t heard anything regarding a Man Utd move for Youssef En-Nesyri as of now,” Romano said to CaughtOffside.
“I know that Man Utd spoke with the agents of Donyell Malen, Serhou Guirassy, and Timo Werner, so those are the names I’ve mentioned previously. Also, I’m positive that no decision has been made and the race is still open.
