After leading the team, Thomas Tuchel has certainly gotten to know a number of Chelsea’s players well. It appears that he is now hoping to get back together with one of his former players.
The Independent claims that the German, who lost out on Trevoh Chalobah in the summer, is eager to sign him.
The Evening Standard reported during the most recent transfer window that Bayern’s loan offer for the centre defender was turned down because Chelsea wanted to pay £50 million for him.
But it seems like the Bundesliga winners might spark interest again this month.
Thomas Tuchel was able to win his guy.
If Chalobah and Tuchel both want to go to Bayern, Chelsea has no reason to stop them from doing so.
It seems doubtful that the 24-year-old will play much considering Mauricio Pochettino has Thiago Silva, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana, and Levi Colwill in his lineup.
Chalobah’s situation is made worse by the fact that Chelsea is being connected to additional central defenders, namely Jean-Clair Todibo of Nice.
Overall, Chalobah has a good chance of signing with Bayern before the transfer season ends.
Bayern will be hesitant to spend a lot of money on the former England U21 international, but it is evident from the most recent transfer window that Chelsea would prefer a loan. They are aware of his circumstances at the club and that, considering the number of centre halves Chelsea currently has, they are probably willing to negotiate.
This one might go through if a compromise can be reached. Though the transfer window is still early, a lot more needs to happen. However, Chalobah’s transfer to Bayern is the kind of arrangement that might work out well for everyone.
