If Pedri, a midfielder for Barcelona, could recruit any player in the world, Erling Haaland would be his ideal addition to the team.
Before Haaland signed with Manchester City in 2022, Barça president Joan Laporta had discussions with his late agent Mino Raiola, with the Blaugrana being priced out of any agreement.
With 71 goals in 75 games for City since then, the 23-year-old has led the English team to three titles last season, including their first-ever Champions League triumph.
When asked which current player he would sign for Barça, Pedri responded, “Haaland,” on Ibai Llanos’ Twitch channel.
“That person is a cyborg. He gets so many goals.”
When asked how Robert Lewandowski’s potential entry at the team would fit in with his coming, Pedri replied, “Unfortunately, Robert is not going to play until he is 60 and Haaland is much younger.”
After Vitor Roque, a Brazilian striker, joined Barça from Club Athletico Paranaense in January, Lewandowski, 35, is already up against new competition for his spot in the team.
Arriving in Barcelona last week, Roque, eighteen, is scheduled to make his La Liga debut on Thursday against Las Palmas, provided he registers with the league in time.
Pedri remarked, “He is always smiling,” regarding Roque’s initial impression.
Magic is transmitted by Brazilian players. Although he is still very young, we shouldn’t expect him to replace Pelé, he is a very confident player.”
In order to fill the void left by Gavi’s long-term injury, Barça also want to recruit a midfield player to their roster in January. Aleix García of Girona is apparently one among their objectives.
“I think Aleix is great,” Pedri continued.
Because I have him on my Fantasy Football squad for this season, you can see how much. He is scoring highly for me and having an excellent campaign.”
Due to his present injury, Pedri is anticipated to miss Barça’s game this week at Las Palmas.
“I am unsure about my return date. “I hope to return soon, but there’s no specific date set,” he stated.
It is the most recent in a run of ailments that Pedri has acquired since participating in 52 games during his first season with Barça in 2020–21, as well as the European Championships and the Olympics with Spain.
He had to alter parts of his routines and preparation since then because he missed more than 60 games for both his club and his country.
“I am doing pilates now on the advice of [former Barça defender Carles] Puyol,” he said.
“My diet has also changed. Although I’m going through a challenging time, I’m in good health. Because everyone talks about you, it’s difficult mentally.”
