Man City, Arsenal’s opponents for the title, has welcomed back to training two important players.
Following their victory in the Club World Cup, Pep Guardiola’s team has won back-to-back Premier League games. Man City has surpassed the Gunners on goal differential despite having played one fewer game than Arsenal due to the Gunners’ poor performance in December, which included just one victory out of their previous five league games and three losses.
As a result, Arsenal is currently five points behind league leaders Liverpool, while Mikel Arteta’s squad is two points ahead of Aston Villa. The City team seems rejuvenated as they look to narrow the gap at the top, while the Gunners are keen to return to their best.
Man City welcomed two famous players back to first team training ahead of their FA Cup third round match against Huddersfield Town on Sunday. Erling Haaland, the top scorer for the treble-winning club from the previous season, hasn’t been with them since December 6. However, on Wednesday night, the Norwegian forward was seen working out with his teammates.
With 19 goals in all competitions, Haaland will undoubtedly help Man City’s offence when they play away at Newcastle on January 13 in league action. Although he had an incredible rookie season, winger Jeremy Doku has missed the last eight games for the team.
The winger, who has made 19 appearances across all competitions, has four goals and six assists. He was also spotted returning to full training with Haaland. Prior to now, each player had received individual training.
This double fitness boost occurs soon after skipper Kevin De Bruyne made his matchday squad comeback despite not playing since the first day of play. The midfield player, who had been sidelined since sustaining a hamstring injury against Burnley in August, was on the bench for Man City’s comfortable victory over Sheffield United on Saturday.
