Real Madrid left defender Ferland Mendy has no plans to leave the squad this month or at the conclusion of the season, according to a report from MARCA, despite several reports to the contrary.
The Frenchman, who is thrilled with the team and with Carlo Ancelotti, intends to stay until the end of his contract.
Real Madrid’s current contract with Mendy expires next year, and the Los Blancos have not attempted to extend it.
As previously stated, the management is at odds over his future and won’t make a choice until the end of the season.
Despite being aware of the truth, Mendy is content.
Mendy’s contract has not been extended by Real Madrid thus far, and from the looks of things, they may decide not to, mostly because they are more focused on signing Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich.
Even with Davies’ arrival, the Frenchman is content in Madrid and grateful for Ancelotti’s support, so he intends to be with the team until the conclusion of his current deal.
Although the club may view him as a valuable asset in prospective swaps over the summer, he is certain that the coach has faith in him.
Given that Mendy’s contract is set to expire in June 2025, Madrid would have to act quickly if they wanted to break up with him, as he appears set to stay.
Someone needs to leave.
Real Madrid must now choose their next course of action. Given Davies’ arrival, the club could have to let go of Fran García if Mendy stays. Mendy is currently ahead of Garcia, who is younger and has a contract that expires in 2028, but he might take a supporting position.
Mendy’s pre-season injury put him at a disadvantage when the season began, but he is starting to show indications of getting back to his best. Ancelotti views Mendy as a dependable option, which was made clear by his strong performance in the Super Cup.
