Although Mykhaylo Mudryk was awful, Gabby Agbonlahor claims that another Chelsea player had “the worst Premier League performance in the last two seasons” during their 4-1 loss to Liverpool on Wednesday.
At Anfield, Jurgen Klopp’s team destroyed Chelsea, scoring 28 shots to the Blues’ four. Luis Diaz, Christopher Nkunku, Dominik Szoboszlai, Conor Bradley, and Diogo Jota all registered goals.
Agbonlahor attacked multiple players on talkSPORT, citing Benoit Badiashile’s performance as the “worst” by a center-back in recent memory. Liverpool were outstanding, but Chelsea put up less of a fight.
“Chelsea appear to not care if they lose,” stated Agbonlahor. They were that horrible, that’s what I took away from last night.
It didn’t seem like they were concerned about failing.
Darwin Nunez hit the woodwork, the post and the bar five times; the score might have been as high as 8-1 or 8-2.
“I’ve probably witnessed the worst center-half performance in the Premier League over the past two seasons from Badasheile.
“He was terrible, Chilwell wasn’t that good, and then Mudryk comes on; he doesn’t seem to have learned anything.” He’s not acting like a football intelligence, kicking it out of play, and rushing into people.
“Thiago Silva lacked wealth. Even though you spend a billion pounds on players, your 39-year-old centre back is almost 40 years old.
Because the entire team wasn’t performing well, I could go on and on about how awful Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Disasi, and so on were.
“Liverpool was excellent; Connor Bradley, the young right-back, was the player of the match.” He was excellent.
When the two clubs play again at Wembley on February 25, Pochettino acknowledged Chelsea would suffer unless their mindset and calibre of play significantly improve.
The Chelsea boss, who has overseen six Premier League away losses this season, stated, “The performance wasn’t good from us.”
We must compete differently if we hope to match them and face them in the championship. Compared to us, they were more aggressive. In every way, they were superior to us.
“At Wembley, naturally, things will be different. The players are feeling happy right now because they know that if they play this performance again, the outcome would be the same.
“We have to get better and challenge ourselves a little bit more. We must acquire knowledge. We must improve if we are to compete with Liverpool, one of the greatest teams in England for a long time.
