In Jurgen Klopp’s final season as manager of the team, Liverpool suffered a setback in their quest for a Premier League championship.
The way the Reds lost 3-1 at Arsenal on Sunday will have been worrying, even though they are still at the top of the standings. This is because it allowed Manchester City and the Gunners to draw closer.
But with a few important players back, maybe, things will get better.
In light of that, here are the most recent injuries to Liverpool players.
Mohamed Salah
Mohamed Salah is still recovering from a thigh injury that he sustained while playing for Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations last month.
Last week, Klopp stated, “Mo is not ready for this game [against Chelsea on January 31], not ready for the next game, and then not.”
“He is hurt; I’m not sure if there was initially a miscommunication.” He is hurt, and it takes time to heal a muscle damage. Though he is currently unavailable since he is undergoing rehabilitation, things could have turned out far worse.”

Dominik Szoboszlai
Dominik Szoboszlai was sidelined for the Gunners loss because of a similar issue, but he recovered from a hamstring ailment for the 4-1 victory over Chelsea late last month.
Dom felt “in the same area, or pretty much a similar area,” according to Klopp’s Sunday statement.
“He wasn’t involved in the game; he was fine. However, after the game, he experienced some discomfort, so we looked into it and decided he couldn’t play this game anymore.”
“There is no risk we can take. It was evident that he couldn’t be involved today, but we will have to wait for additional evaluation. That’s pretty much it.

Tsimikas Kostas
Kostas Tsimikas, who broke his collarbone against Arsenal at Anfield in December, is getting closer to playing again.
Klopp stated last week that Kosti is close.
“Kosti is actually in good health; she simply needs to wait for the all-clear as bone mending takes a long time. Until then, the plate is holding up well. Let me put it this way: we now need to determine when one person is taking over enough. In addition, he is undergoing training. He did not stay out for as long as Trent or Dom did.”

Stefan Bajcetic
With numerous appearances this season, promising young midfielder Stefan Bajcetic has not been able to capitalise on the Reds’ breakout season from the previous one.
But Klopp is optimistic that the young athlete will be able to resume training in February.
At the beginning of January, Klopp stated, “They [Thiago and Bajcetic] will not be ready for the end of this month.”
“Training with us is likely to continue into the upcoming month. But both [with] no issues, advancing.”

Ben Doak
Another young player with promise, Ben Doak, may miss some time due to a knee injury he sustained in December.
Back in December, assistant manager Pep Lijnders observed, “That’s not a good one.”
His lateral meniscus was torn, necessitating surgery. That one is going to take more time. He is young, physically fit, and optimistic, so it is likely that he will return stronger. However, we need him to return with the same intensity and passion that he did when he was playing the ball. We’ll wait for him even if he needs some time.”
