Takehiro Tomiyasu is reportedly hoping to play against Burnley on Saturday after agreeing to a new contract with Arsenal.
Takehiro Tomiyasu suffered another injury, although it appears that it is not a major one. Mikel Arteta revealed this to him following Arsenal’s match against West Ham United on Sunday.
According to Football.London, there was even a chance that Tomiyasu might have played against West Ham. As things stand, the hope is that he’ll recover in time for this weekend’s Burnley match.
According to Ollie of the Arsenal Informer, Tomiyasu signed a new deal on Tuesday and is available to play against Burnley.
According to recent reports from Fabrizio Romano, Tomiyasu will shortly formally sign a new contract with Arsenal, stating that the deal is “100% sealed.”
Romano claims Tomiyasu is prepared to sign his new contract, and there are just few formalities left before the announcement.
Although Tomiyasu had garnered attention from Italian and other clubs in recent months, according to Romano’s earlier claims, he was never going to depart.
He has always been desired to stay by Arsenal, and a new contract is on the way.
Due to a calf injury that occurred prior to his absence from the AFC Asian Cup, Tomiyasu hasn’t been able to contribute significantly to Arsenal’s performance over the past few months.
When Tomiyasu returned from the Asian Cup, the initial expectation was that he would immediately rejoin the Arsenal team.
However, additional evaluations showed that it would have been a fitness risk to start the defence against West Ham.
Arsenal’s next scheduled matches are against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday and FC Porto away on Wednesday, February 21st, in the Champions League last-16 first-leg.
