Michel Sanchez discusses future next season amid links to Barcelona job
Michel Sanchez, the manager of Girona, has once again expressed his desire to stay with the club in response to rumours that he would pursue opportunities outside of Montilivi. After Real Madrid crushed his team 4-0 at the Bernabeu, he also acknowledged that he made mistakes there.
“The critique is valid, and I acknowledge it. I understand my responsibilities,” he said to Esport3, which was covered by Sport.
“We will be in a very good position if we don’t lose against Athletic, but I think that we have to score 73-75 points to enter the Champions League,” Michel said.

Recent weeks have seen him linked to the Barcelona position due to his outstanding work, but the buzz has now subsided. Maybe because Michel is determined to keep going an hour north of the capital of Catalonia.
Because of this club, I am a better coach. While I’ve had more issues with other clubs, Quique Carcel [sporting director] and the club have greatly improved my quality of work. I’m very at ease and I have a contract. I believe I’ll stay here. I’m persuaded.
