Luke Shaw went off at half time in Man United’s win over Aston Villa last Sunday
Luke Shaw is doubtful for Manchester United’s trip to Luton Town on Sunday, but manager Erik ten Hag will give the left-back as much time as possible to prove his health.
Shaw was substituted off the pitch at halftime of the victory over Aston Villa last Saturday due to a precautionary measure, but he is still dealing with the niggle from that encounter and is eager to play against the Hatters.
Victor Lindelof took Shaw’s position, and as Tyrell Malacia and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are also sidelined, United may only have Diogo Dalot available for selection this weekend at full back.
Luke’s attendance for the weekend is uncertain, but we are confident he can make it. It was the appropriate move for him to come out as a precaution. We work through Sunday,” Ten Hag remarked.
Wan-Bissaka sustained an injury during training and will be out for a few weeks. Mason Mount and Malacia will also need several weeks to heal before they can play again.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka sustained another injury during training last week, so it will take a few weeks. Tyrell and Mason will require a few more weeks,” Ten Hag remarked.
As Malacia attempts to recover from a knee injury sustained in the summer, the United boss disclosed that the player has encountered a setback since his first return to grass-based training.
“He had setbacks during his rehab process, it takes too long, it’s bad for him, bad for us,” Ten Hag stated. However, we’ve made progress lately, and it’s encouraging that he will soon be back on the pitch. Not much longer and he’ll be back in team training.”
