Cody Gakpo gave the team its final word minutes before the end of time as Liverpool defeated Brentford 4-1 in the Premier League on Saturday. It completed a strong showing by the Reds, who are still atop the Premier League standings.
“I believe that we should maintain the current feeling and simply expand upon it,” Gakpo stated.
“We have another crucial game scheduled for midweek, and there will be another crucial game over the weekend as well. Only significant games, in my opinion, will now be announced. We must maintain our focus and fitness and we need everyone.
Injuries to Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones have cast doubt on Liverpool’s depth in the second half of the season. The team’s spirit and resolve, however, were evident throughout the match.
It was a day filled with everything, of course. The team put on a really strong performance, in my opinion. We played with the excellent mindset we required to win this game, but we also had a few injuries, which hurt us, Gakpo stated.
“I don’t know what’s up with the boys, but we need everyone to be as fit as possible because we have a lot of games coming up.”
