Robert Sanchez and Carney Chukwuemeka of Chelsea might meet Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.
Chelsea will welcome back two-star players from injury for their Carabao Cup final match at Wembley against Liverpool, according to the Evening Standard. It is predicted that Robert Sanchez and Carney Chukwuemeka will return for the championship game.
Three days before the journey to City, Chukwuemeka had an ankle injury while training. The report indicates that the midfield player’s injury is not significant, as the young player may be able to play in the Carabao Cup final. The midfielder also missed a match against Aston Villa.
Since suffering a knee injury at the beginning of the season and missing a significant amount of time due to it, Chukwuemeka hasn’t played as much this season.
The 20-year-old had numerous injury relapses and didn’t play in enough games while recovering from a knee injury. He twisted his ankle again, but this time it’s not too bad, so he should be able to play against Liverpool.
Another injury boost for the Blues comes in the form of Robert Sanchez possibly starting against the Reds. The former player for Brighton & Hove Albion has already fully healed from the knee injury they sustained against Manchester United in a 2-1 loss.
The goaltender will be inspected before the Liverpool match, and if everything looks good, Sanchez might be ready to play against the Reds. It is anticipated that Mauricio Pochettino will start Dorde Petrovic as a precaution, and it is unlikely that the former Villains midfielder will play for a few minutes.
Conor Gallagher, Moises Caicedo, and Enzo Fernandez will be Pochettino’s starting midfield trio. Cesare Casadei is expected to make a brief appearance. The Argentine manager will decide whether or not he thinks Chukwuemeka ought to play.
