Alex Marquez still needs to fix a few things on his Ducati Desmosedici before the competition begins to be ready for the MotoGP world championship to get underway.
The rider for Gresini Racing started out by discussing one of his biggest issues: “First and foremost, the race pace.” It’s true that our situation isn’t good—during my collision on Monday, my front tyre went flat. That was the situation with the tyres, particularly the front ones. We had a bit of an odd day since we spent a lot of time on the old tyre and because we ran out of tyres, we put the soft one on for the time attack too soon. The time attack on the first one we used was too early for the long race.
Similar to Jorge Martín, Álex is also experiencing vibrations in the back of the bike: “We had issues on Tuesday, but that’s good because we have time to work through them.” Tuesday’s major goal was to complete the long race. We have these two weeks to investigate the vibration in the back, same like we did last year. It was a pleasant feeling.
On the second day of testing, A. Márquez came in thirteenth.
