Sunday’s performance by Weston McKennie, who is having a tremendous season with Juventus, might have come at a price.
The midfielder ended Juventus’s skid of four straight league games without a victory as he recorded two assists in a 3-2 victory over Frosinone in Serie A.
However, the star of the US national team was forced to leave the game after 87 minutes due to a shoulder injury he sustained while attempting a sliding tackle.
GOAL revealed following the game that McKennie had a dislocated shoulder, with no indication as to when he will heal.
McKennie got the game underway on Sunday with two assists for Dušan Vlahović. Three minutes in, McKennie skillfully deflected a lofted pass and found the striker with a cross from the right. That was the first goal.
Following some clever movement in the area, McKennie and Vlahović joined up once more to give Juventus an equaliser after Frosinone had taken a 2-1 lead with two goals.
Up until stoppage time, the score remained tied. However, Daniele Rugani’s winning goal in the 95th minute gave his team a much-needed three points.
