Last month in La Liga, Mason Greenwood—who is currently on loan at Getafe—had his first confrontation with Jude Bellingham, a great player for Real Madrid.
Bellingham tackled Greenwood, and television cameras captured him speaking with a fellow citizen.
The case was forwarded to Spain’s football federation when Bellingham was accused of calling Greenwood a “r*pist,” even though the audio was not captured in the footage that went viral.
A ban would be the worst thing that could happen to Bellingham, but according to The Sun, Greenwood wants the probe to end. Mason has informed them he doesn’t want Jude to be punished and has requested them to drop it, a source told the publication.
“He wants to continue playing football and doesn’t want any negative publicity.”
He wasn’t expecting that from someone like Jude, therefore he was furious at the time. However, he has come to terms with the fact that he will always be a target for that kind of thing and will thus require a thick skin.
Greenwood has to accept the fact that “bad publicity” will follow him around no matter where he goes.
Recently, Sir Jim Ratcliffe informed reporters that in the upcoming months, United will make a new choice about Greenwood’s future.
