Five goals from Erling Haaland helped Man City defeat Luton in the FA Cup.
Erling Haaland, a striker for Manchester City, looked around the Premier League title battle and said, “We are ready to attack.”
Tuesday night, City defeated Luton Town 6-2 to advance to the FA Cup quarterfinals at Kenilworth Road. For Pep Guardiola’s team, Haaland scored five goals, including a hat-trick in the first forty minutes of play.
After missing two months due to an ankle injury, Haaland has returned. After a protracted hamstring injury, the legendary Kevin De Bruyne is back to his best. He has already scored seven goals in his last six games. He helped Haaland versus Luton score their first four goals.
The two will be looking to lead City to the Premier League title for a record-breaking fourth time. They are just one point behind leaders Liverpool and will make the seismic trip to Anfield on Sunday week. Third-place Arsenal are already down one point.
Additionally, while the Reds compete for the trophies, Haaland has issued a clear warning. He said, “It’s coming, we’re coming,” to ITV Sport.
“My level of fitness? I’m returning to my best self. I am at last feeling well. It’s a wonderful sensation. Ahead are exciting days. We are prepared to launch an assault.”
But despite winning over Luton, City did suffer another blow to their injury roster. Due to a recurrence of a groin issue, Jack Grealish was forced off the pitch in the 38th minute and appeared distraught while on the bench. “I didn’t speak to the doctor yet, but I think he complained about the groin, so maybe quite similar,” said Pep Guardiola, the manager.
“Although he felt great, he was regrettably hurt again right before the game started. He needs to heal well and support us when he returns because this has been a difficult season for him.
