Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai are anticipated to be in contention for Liverpool’s trip to Nottingham Forest, despite Jurgen Klopp providing a mixed squad update beforehand.
Given their dire need for reinforcements, Liverpool fans have been debating whether or not to welcome back several players for their trip to Nottingham Forest.
The next possible comeback date is the FA Cup midweek match against Forest since Wataru Endo, Darwin Nunez, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Mohamed Salah were not present.
Darwin and Dom trained with the team yesterday (Thursday), and they looked excellent, according to Klopp, who gave an update on his roster the night before the league match. We’ll just have to wait and see [how they respond].
“Though Wataru and Robbo aren’t scheduled to participate today (Friday), that is the plan.” Though we still need to see if it pans out, that is the idea.
It is therefore anticipated that the four will be considered for the Nottingham team, which is a welcome addition. However, given that Nunez and Szoboszlai have missed the previous three and six games, respectively, one would anticipate that they will start from the bench.
Salah won’t be fit for Saturday’s match since he lost to a recurrence of his hamstring injury at Brentford.
“I think Mo’s not too far off, but he will not reach tomorrow, and from there, we have to go,” stated Klopp. Touch and go, much as with the other two, but sadly, that stays with Mo for a little while longer.
“I believe it’s feasible [he returns] at any moment throughout the next week. He is undoubtedly returning, but he is not there yet.
Due to a variety of injuries, the Reds were forced to play without 13 of their senior players on Wednesday. This allowed the younger players to step up and play a larger part, which they dutifully took advantage of.
And with the next game coming up in a little over a day, Klopp stated that “we have to stay flexible” and that “I couldn’t give you the answer” on the starting lineup.
