Joshua Kimmich, a top player for Bayern Munich, seems, to some, to wish he were someone he is not.
Although Robert Andrich of Bayern Leverkusen appears to be the front-runner for the center midfield spot next to Toni Kroos, Kimmich is Germany’s first-choice right-back for the EURO 2024 campaign.
From my perspective, I enjoy playing in both midfield and right back positions. Robert has performed admirably, in my opinion, particularly in the past few games. He was a great compliment to Toni. Robert possesses skills on the ball that we occasionally undervalue in addition to his ability to fight and win duels. Kimmich stated, “He has a lot of qualities that may help us (as caught by @iMiaSanMia). “The demands are different for right-backs than they are for midfielders.” I soon adjusted to playing that position again because I had played it before. Naturally, you follow different schedules and make every effort to be ready. Even if my role has evolved, I still want to pave the path with excellent performances.
Kimmich appears to be approaching his personal dilemma with the appropriate mindset. The 29-year-old is a must-have at right-back for this tournament, but perhaps he’ll get his chance to play in the midfield again in the future.
