Erik Ten Hag reveals when key Man Utd duo are likely to return
Both Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro have resumed full training, but it may be some time before they play for the starting squad.
Erik ten Hag stated over the Christmas break that both players would return in mid-January, despite the fact that the two have not played for the team in recent months due to injuries.
Martinez had to undergo surgery a second time in September due to a recurrence of a foot issue he had sustained at the end of the previous season. He’s only played in six games this term as a result. Casemiro, on the other hand, has not played in almost three months due to an injury; his most recent game was on October 7th, when the team defeated Brentford 2-1.
Ten Hag stated, “They [Casemiro and Martinez] are a long time already back on the grass and now they return back into team training but not fully, so partial,” during his pre-match news conference ahead of tonight’s Wigan Athletic cup encounter. They must now take the next action, which could take a few days or perhaps weeks.
“Hojlund will make a comeback. He was feeling a touch under the weather prior to the game [against Forest] because he had dropped out just before. He was supposed to play the day before, but he withdrew just in time for the match, but he has since returned to training.”
