Mundo Deportivo claims that Manchester United is interested in Takefusa Kubo of Real Sociedad during the summer transfer season.
The Japan international, one of La Liga’s top young wingers, left Real Madrid in 2022 and has had a significant effect at Sociedad.
The young Japanese player participated in 44 La Liga games for the squad last season, scoring nine goals and dishing out nine assists. This season, he has six goals and four assists in 25 games.
The Red Devils are reportedly interested in signing him in the summer to fulfil his rumored £51 million release clause because of his impressive growth.
The youthful player may prove to be a valuable replacement for United star Antony, who has struggled to contribute at the team since making the large money transfer from Ajax. The Real Sociedad star can be a valuable addition to the team as Antony’s replacement if United can manage to let go of the Brazilian, who the team is requesting to be sold for £50 million.
Kubo is a flexible player who can operate in the front two, on either wing, and behind the striker. He is the kind of player United really needs right now. His adaptability and productivity are qualities the team now lacks.
Recent sources claim that Liverpool, United’s fierce rivals, are also considering the Japanese winger. Jurgen Klopp sees him as Mo Salah’s long-term replacement, and he has already told the club’s board of directors as much.
In the summer, the two Premier League teams can engage in a transfer battle thanks to the former Real Madrid player.
