The seasoned midfielder, who cost an estimated £21.4 million (Sky Sports), is proving to be a great addition for Xabi Alonso’s team. The Switzerland international left Arsenal previous summer.
Aside from his stellar individual season, the 31-year-old is contributing significantly to the team’s amazing run to the title, which has seen them go 23 games without a loss and top the Bundesliga standings, 11 points ahead of Bayern Munich.
Xabi Alonso was concerned after Granit Xhaka’s funny goal celebration against Mainz.
And Xhaka has been playing well lately. On Friday night, he had a major impact early against Mainz.
After barely three minutes, the midfield player scored an incredible goal, but his celebration brought the biggest smiles to the faces of the spectators.
Xhaka pretended to have a hamstring strain in order to annoy his manager and coaching staff. Alonso was clearly concerned before realising the joke was on him.
