In what looks to be a historic summer transfer window at Old Trafford, Man Utd have already moved signings number one and two over the finish line.
Forward Joshua Zirkzee took the lead, and center-back Leny Yoro trailed closely behind. But United wants to add five or more players to their roster.
There has been an agreement reached to sign Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui. The Moroccan is expected to sign a five-year contract with a club option for a sixth season if the deal goes through. Personal arrangements are also set in place.
However, Man Utd must first offload Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the player he would replace, before they can finalize the transaction, which is estimated to be worth about £20 million with add-ons.
Following the loss of Ben Johnson to Ipswich Town via free agency, West Ham, who are thin on right-backs, are showing a great deal of interest in the 26-year-old.
Wan-Bissaka is valued by Man Utd at approximately £15 million, and according to Sky Germany, further negotiations about the transfer occurred on Monday.
Florian Plettenberg, their reporter, claimed that no significant progress had been made in the talks thus far. However, the fact that negotiations are happening is encouraging, and Plettenberg has stated that a fresh round of meetings has been planned.
“New talks about a (permanent) deal of Aaron Wan-Bissaka have taken place today (Monday)!” the reporter wrote on X.
However, no verbal agreement has been reached—not even between the clubs—between the player and West Ham.
“More rounds of discussions and bargaining are planned. Wan-Bissaka is wanted by West Ham, although there are apparent budgetary constraints.
Plettenberg hinted at the possibility that the deal’s current delay is due to financial concerns in the conclusion of his tweet.
PSG facilitates Man Utd’s acquisition of Manuel Ugarte.
In other news, Man Utd might be able to sign Manuel Ugarte, a destroyer for PSG and Uruguay, without having to shell out a lot of money this summer.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed on his YouTube channel that PSG is now willing to let go of Ugarte in exchange for a loan, provided there is a purchase requirement.
Under such a deal, Manchester United might postpone paying the transfer fee until 2025, freeing up funds to pursue other immediate goals.
Romano said, “He agreed on personal terms and wants to go to United. He’s also waiting for Man Utd to reach an agreement with PSG.”
According to what I’m hearing, PSG might also be willing to lend money in exchange for Manuel Ugarte’s purchase.
“But not a loan with a buy option, at least not right now—we realize things may change in the market. It’s still an obligation, a necessary element.
“However, PSG wants a permanent or obligation transfer right now, so we’ll have to wait and see. The player is waiting and still hopes to go to Manchester United, which is his top priority for this summer.”
PSG is getting close to replacing Ugarte.
Joao Neves, the sensation from Benfica, is about to sign a €70 million contract with PSG. Renato Sanches, a midfielder, is anticipated to go the other way as part of the deal.
Neves is thought to be an improvement over Ugarte, and his presence would indicate that a move for Ugarte is imminent.
Now that Ugarte’s terms are set in stone and PSG is willing to consider a loan with a purchase obligation, things are looking a lot more certain.
If Mazraoui and Ugarte show up, Man Utd will still be in
