In order to secure a spot in the FA Cup final against rival Manchester City, Manchester United defeated Brighton on penalties on Sunday night.
While Brighton had eight days off after returning from a trip to Spain, we played three days after the trip and went all the way to extra time before Victor Lindelof scored the game-winning penalty in sudden death.
Following Solly March’s miss, David de Gea told MUTV that he knew we would advance to the final because he had faith in his teammate’s ability to score.
Since they missed the penalty, I’ll be honest and say that I was absolutely convinced. Victor has ice in his veins, so when I saw him take the ball, I said, “We won, we won.” He has such great ball skills. He actually did it! Victor hasn’t played as much this season, but he once again put in a strong performance. He’s a wonderful, great centre back in my opinion. He is there for the group always.
